Sit down with Christopher Washington Jr.

We recently had the opportunity to sit down with Christopher Washington Jr. from The Villages High School (FL) to discuss his recruitment and various aspects of his basketball journey.

Washington has been on a few radars since middle school and continues to impress. A couple of things that I’ve seen from Washington is his improving jumper and maturity as a player, something he has focused during his freshman season. With that continued focus, he is adding another area for improvement, ball-handling. With good size for the position and athleticism, adding an element of creativity with his handles will undoubtably open his game.

College coaches are taking notice of his talents and upside as Florida State (un-official visit), West Virginia, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Missouri, Auburn, Jacksonville University, Stetson University, and Bethune-Cookman have all offered.

It easy to compare him to a young Kevin Durant because of his size, length, and smoothness to his game but he is also a fan of two of the leagues most physical players in Lebron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo.

One of the traits he possesses like the three players mentioned above is his confidence, when asked who the toughest player he played against last year, he replied “To be honest, nobody stands out”.

As he navigates his high school path and the recruiting battles heat up he stated, “I’ll lean on my dad, family, coach Ant and me”. He continued, “I want to play my freshman year, be part of a team that’s like family, and play as a cohesive unit”, in response to what he was looking for from a college program.
