St. John’s, Washington and Kentucky added three distinct pieces to their 2027 classes this week. Malachi Jordan and Jimmie “Tripp” Haywood III announced Tuesday, followed by Cherif Millogo on Wednesday.
Malachi Jordan — St. John’s
Prolific Prep (FL) | 6’7” Wing | Class of 2027
Jordan chose St. John’s over Kansas and Vanderbilt, drawn to Rick Pitino’s approach to development and the demanding environment he experienced during his visit. His strength and athleticism give the Red Storm a wing who could contribute defensively, on the glass and in transition while refining his half-court offense. Jordan averaged 10.8 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.6 assists in EYBL play. For a program built largely through transfers under Pitino, landing him is a meaningful investment in high school talent.
Jimmie “Tripp” Haywood III — Washington
AZ Compass Prep (AZ) | 6’4” Shooting Guard | Class of 2027
Haywood is headed back to the Seattle area. The former Bellevue and Garfield guard picked Washington over Nevada and Loyola Marymount, becoming Danny Sprinkle’s first high school commitment in the 2027 class. His modest scoring numbers on a deep Compass roster leave room for a larger senior-year role. Washington is betting on that growth while strengthening its connection to local talent. Consistent shooting, sound decisions and dependable defense will be central to Haywood earning his place with the Huskies.
Cherif Millogo — Kentucky
St. Francis HS (CA) | 7’4” Center | Class of 2027
Kentucky added a different dimension with Millogo, who joins Ryan Hampton in Mark Pope’s 2027 class after visits to Lexington, USC and BYU. His reach, mobility and touch make him an intriguing frontcourt prospect. He could give Kentucky both a rim protector and a finishing target, but positioning, strength and defensive discipline will determine how quickly he contributes. The size draws attention; his continued development will decide the impact.
