Underrated Spotlight: Prince-Alexander Moody

District Heights, MD — One of the fastest-rising talents in the Class of 2026, Prince-Alexander Moody has emerged as a go-to scorer and clutch performer for Bishop McNamara High School, earning him a well-deserved spot in Indiana basketball’s incoming recruiting class and growing buzz nationally as a stock riser in prep hoops circles.

Back on Nov. 13, 2025, Moody officially signed his national letter of intent with Indiana University, joining the Hoosiers under head coach Darian DeVries. The 6-4 combo guard from Bishop McNamara chose IU over a wide array of Division I programs, capping a recruitment that included more than 20 offers.

Coach DeVries praised Moody’s impact, calling him “the ultimate team guy and competitor” with a feel for the game that fits Indiana’s identity.

Moody’s rise hasn’t been just about his recruitment, he’s delivered in the moments that matter most for his squad:

Signature Performance vs. No. 1 Sierra Canyon (Dec. 6, 2025)

In one of the most shocking upsets of the early season, Bishop McNamara erased a 19-point third-quarter deficit to topple the top-ranked Sierra Canyon team 57-52. Moody was the catalyst in the final quarter, launching a personal 10-0 scoring run that flipped the momentum and ultimately sealed the Mustangs’ victory.

His 19 points and eight rebounds led all scorers — a statement performance against elite competition that highlighted his scoring instincts, timing, and ability to rise in crunch time.

City of Palms Classic Standout (Dec. 2025)

Most recently at the prestigious City of Palms Classic, Moody continued to shine. In a 79-59 win over Garfield Heights, he poured in 26 points on 10-of-15 shooting, pacing Bishop McNamara alongside elite senior Qayden Samuels.

While the Mustangs split results at the event — falling in tight contests to nationally ranked Wheeler and Long Island Lutheran, Moody’s scoring and composure remained on display against top competition.

Moody’s trajectory from a strong AAU performer to a high-level prep star and soon-to-be Big Ten contributor speaks to his rapid development:

Scoring Versatility — Can attack off the bounce, convert in isolation, or knock down perimeter shots.

Clutch Instincts — Proven ability to take over late and swing momentum.

Basketball IQ — A playmaker who understands spacing and team dynamics.

Looking Ahead

As Moody transitions to college basketball with the Indiana Hoosiers, expectations are rising that his high-level scoring and competitive fire will translate to the next level. For Bishop McNamara fans and Indiana supporters alike, Moody’s final prep months are more than a countdown, they’re a spotlight on a guard who keeps rising.

Stay tuned as we continue to track Prince-Alexander Moody’s evolution from Maryland standout to future Hoosier contributor and potential professional prospect.
