Jacksonville, FLLast Saturday, Make 5 Media was back in the gym with a focus on the rising talent in the area of Jacksonville, FL. The action took place at University Christian High School, where some of the best young prospects in the region gathered to showcase their skills. After a full day of games and performances, we identified the top five players with 4 players in the 2027 class who stood out and have the most potential to make a significant impact in the future.

Here are the Make 5 Media Top 5 Players

2027 6’8” F/C Nolan Nelson, Creekside HS

Nelson is agile & displays an impressive combination of size and skill that makes him a versatile player.  As an open court ball handler, he’s capable of initiating offense and pushing the tempo, showcasing his ability to start a secondary break and maintain fluidity in transition.  Not only does he handle the ball well for his position, but his shooting ability, particularly from beyond the arc, makes him a threat to stretch the floor. His versatility allows him to contribute both inside and outside, making him an advanced power forward capable of adapting to various roles on the court. With his skill set, he is able to create mismatches, particularly with his blend of strength and finesse. Expect him to continue evolving as a dynamic forward with a modern, multi-dimensional style of play.

2027 6’7” SF Henry Robinson, Creekside HS

An athletic wing is quickly emerging as one to watch in the state of Florida. Standing out with his size, versatility, and skill set, he’s beginning to make some real noise as his game continues to develop. With his impressive length and natural ability on both ends of the floor, he is creating mismatches and showing flashes of high-level potential.  He’s a fluid athlete who’s able to use his size to score over smaller defenders. His upside is significant, and as he refines his skill set and adds strength to his frame, expect him to become a major prospect in the state and beyond.  His trajectory is rising, and he could be a name to keep an eye on as his game matures and he solidifies his standing in Florida’s basketball landscape.

2027 6’2” PG Markel Holmes, San Jose Prep

Markel Holmes is a big, physical left-handed guard who thrives on soaking up contact and using his size to his advantage. His ability to put constant pressure on smaller guards makes him a tough matchup in both the open court and half-court settings.  Holmes’ strength and physicality allow him to absorb contact and finish through it, often getting to the free-throw line as a result. His downhill playstyle forces defenders to stay on their heels, and his aggressive mindset consistently keeps the defense on edge.  As a lefty, he can create awkward angles for defenders, making him difficult to contain. With his combination of size, physicality, and playmaking ability, Holmes is an emerging talent who has the tools to be a difference maker on both ends of the floor. His relentless approach makes him a valuable asset, particularly in matchups against smaller, less physical guards.

2025 6’10” F/C Adalbert Allotey, University Christian School

Adalbert Allotey displayed a strong post presence, doing all of his work around the rim with efficiency. His ability to position himself well in the paint and finish through contact makes him a reliable option in the post. Allotey also excelled in pick-and-roll situations, showcasing a good understanding of timing and spacing to create scoring opportunities.  With his size and physicality, he is able to seal off defenders and finish close to the basket, making him a constant threat in the paint. His ability to set solid screens and roll effectively opens up opportunities for both himself and his teammates. Allotey’s work around the rim, combined with his pick and roll proficiency, makes him a valuable asset on the court. Allotey just recently picked up an offer from Arkansas State.

2027 6’2” PG Aaron Britt, The Villages HS

Aaron Britt Jr. is an elusive and dynamic player with the ball in his hands. His ability to push the tempo makes him a constant threat in transition, and he’s highly effective at breaking down defenses on the move. Britt Jr. can shoot the 3-ball with confidence, adding a critical element to his offensive game that stretches defenses.  One area where he’s continuing to grow is in pick and roll situations. As he gains experience, Britt Jr. is learning how to read defenses better and make more impactful decisions, which will help him become a more complete playmaker.
