What a difference a year can make
Jacob: The difference between last year and now is quite significant. I’ve become a lot stronger and more confident on the court. My understanding of the game has grown, and I have a better sense of what it takes to succeed at this level. This spring and summer, I’m focused on making the most of my opportunities. I want to continue improving as a player, get recruited more, and enhance my interview skills. Ultimately, I’m striving to become a well-rounded athlete and person. My focus this season is on becoming more athletic and honing my leadership skills. I want to be able to lead a team effectively, both on and off the court. My goals include pushing my physical limits and being the best player and leader I can be. I hit the gym and work on my game at least 5 times a week. Consistency is key to my development.
Who’s on the list?
Jacob: I’ve been fortunate to receive offers from several schools, including Georgia Tech, Illinois, Arkansas, Cal U, Texas A&M, Arizona State, TCU, Ole Miss, Texas Tech, and UAPB. While each offer is exciting, UAPB and Arkansas have been showing the most interest in me lately. I have some visits lined up for this fall. I’ll be heading to LSU and Arkansas, and then in October, I’ll visit Ole Miss. I’m looking for a program where the players share the same goals as me. It’s crucial to be part of a team that is driven to succeed. I appreciate when the coaching staff is understanding and supportive. It creates a positive and productive atmosphere that helps players thrive.
Things you may not know
Jacob: I look up to players like Anthony Black and LeBron James, their work ethic and skills inspire me. The toughest player I faced this year has to be Bobby Portis, he’s a force on the court. We get a lot of pick-up runs and was blessed to hoop with him. My dad is a significant influence in my decision-making process. His guidance and support mean a lot to me.
