Orlando, FL – The second session of the Hoop Exchange featured several rising prospects who continue to make noise on the recruiting trail. From high-motor wings to elite young bigs and explosive guards, the gym was filled with talent across multiple classes. A few players in particular separated themselves with their productivity, development, and overall impact on the floor.
Kevin Edou | 6’5 | Class of 2027 | Olympia HS
Kevin Edou continues to prove that effort and competitiveness still matter at the highest levels of grassroots basketball. The 6-foot-5 wing consistently played with a high motor throughout the session, bringing intensity on both ends of the floor and making winning plays.
Edou’s versatility allows him to impact the game in multiple ways. Whether it’s rebounding, defending multiple positions, or scoring within the flow of the offense, he consistently finds ways to be productive. His approach to the game and willingness to compete every possession make him a coach’s type of player.
College programs have already taken notice. Edou currently holds offers from Stetson University and Boston University, and with his continued development, more schools are expected to get involved.
Herbert Agamba | 6’9 | Class of 2029 | JCP
One of the most intriguing long-term prospects in the gym was 6-foot-9 big man Herbert Agamba. Since the last evaluation, Agamba has clearly placed an emphasis on expanding his offensive skill set.
Defensively, he remains a dominant presence around the rim. His size, length, and activity level allow him to alter shots and control the paint. Offensively, the most noticeable improvement is his growing confidence shooting from the perimeter, showing flashes of a developing inside-outside game.
With his physical tools and continued development, Agamba projects as a prospect who will draw significant recruiting attention this summer.
DJ Gaines | 5’11 | Class of 2027 | Westminster Academy
DJ Gaines brought energy and explosiveness to the session, showing why he is one of the more exciting guards in the gym. The 5-foot-11 point guard plays with elite quickness and athleticism, allowing him to change the pace of the game whenever he chooses.
Gaines thrives in the open floor and can pressure defenses with his ability to attack off the dribble. What stands out just as much is the confidence he plays with. Whether he is creating offense or applying defensive pressure, Gaines has the ability to influence the flow of the game.
Ethan Knox | 6’5 | Class of 2028 | Zephyrhills Christian
Another player showing steady improvement is 6-foot-5 wing Ethan Knox. His development continues to trend upward, particularly in his patience and understanding of how to attack offensively.
Knox is effective as a slasher and moves extremely well without the basketball, which allows him to create scoring opportunities within the flow of the offense. His ability to cut, finish, and stay active off the ball makes him a difficult matchup for defenders.
If his progression continues at this rate, Knox is a prospect who should see increased recruiting attention heading into the summer evaluation period.
